Special GAA event planned for Tyrone

Many unforgettable GAA games have been staged in Tyrone over the years but one which actually makes it into the Guinness Book of Records should be a particularly special occasion.

Details were announced last night of of the `Marathon Match' which is due to last for just over 24 hours at the Garvaghey Centre near Omagh in January.

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has given his backing to the initiative, and all the money raised through sponsorship will go to the Michaela Foundation and Cancer Focus NI.

They represent two very worthy causes and it can be expected that the public will give their full support to what promises to be a memorable event for everyone involved.
