A brave gesture by grieving Louise

The unimaginable grief endured by Louise James after the loss of her partner, two sons, mother and sister in the appalling Donegal drowning tragedy last month would have crushed a lesser person.

Instead, Louise has volunteered to join Davitt Walsh, the man who so courageously rescued her baby daughter as the family's car slipped below the waters of Lough Swilly, in running the Belfast Marathon on May 2 to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK.

She and her other relatives who are taking part in the initiative chose the charity because it provided help for her youngest son, Evan (8), who suffered from the condition.

It is a worthy cause, which can be supported through #teamevan at www.justgiving.com, and it represents a fitting tribute to all the victims.
