Mum's killer must be brought to justice

News that police are treating the death of mother of three Jennifer Dornan as murder has stunned a local community already in a state of shock over the tragic loss of the popular young woman.

The 30-year-old was found dead following a fierce blaze at her home in Hazel View in the Lagmore area of west Belfast early on Sunday.

At that stage there was nothing to suggest the death of Ms Dornan was anything more than a terrible accident.

However, the PSNI revealed on Monday evening that following a post mortem examination, they had launched a murder inquiry.

Detectives believe the killer had set the fire to cover evidence of this dreadful crime and it was quite clear from the damage caused to the roof and upper floor that this was a ferocious blaze.

It is appalling to think that this young woman lost her life in a deliberate act, an act that has robbed three children aged just eight, five and three of a loving mother.

Police want anyone with information to come forward, a call that has been echoed by her father, Stephen, who has made an emotional appeal for the killer to be caught.

It is absolutely essential detectives are given every assistance in bringing the person responsible for this despicable crime to justice.
