Fitting tribute to Brian Hearty

The death of Brian Hearty in a car crash last month, on the day after he celebrated his 26th birthday, represented a terrible loss for his family, friends and the wider community.

His relatives deserve great credit for keeping his memory alive through a commendable initiative based on the release of a song deliberately written in an upbeat style for his funeral in Silverbridge, Co Armagh.

As we report today, the CD, entitled Truck Run To Heaven, reflects Mr Hearty's involvement in a charity convoy on the eve of his fatal accident as well as his commitment to the GAA and his love of life.

With all the proceeds going to the worthy cause of the Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund, it is a fitting tribute to both to him and so many others who have died tragically on our roads.
