Lawyers acting for Conor McGregor have entered not guilty pleas in a US court to charges of robbery by sudden snatching and criminal mischief.

It follows the former mixed martial arts fighter's arrest in Miami Beach, Florida, last month for allegedly smashing another man's phone.

Police say the alleged victim in the case was trying to take a picture of McGregor outside a hotel when he slapped the man's phone out of his hand, stomped on it several times and walked away with it.

McGregor was not present in Miami-Dade County Court for today's arraignment hearing.

His case is due to come before the court again on 30 April, and a trial date has been set for 13 May.

McGregor's lawyer Sam Rabin told RTÉ: "We look forward to resolving this matter as quickly as possible".
