MoveHub, a company that helps people emigrate, has calculated which countries are most expensive to live in.
The calculations have been made using information from Numbeo's Cost of Living Index which is worked out from daily living costs such as transport, utilities, groceries or eating out.
The Republic sits just outside the top 10 as the 11th most expensive country, a jump of five places from 16th last year.
The UK is further down the list, coming in at 24th.
Bermuda is the most expensive country to live in while Pakistan is least expensive.
European countries were prominent on the most expensive list with Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland featuring in the top 10.
