A suspected attacker has driven into a police vehicle in the Champs-Elysees shopping district in Paris, French police said.

It is unclear why the attacker, who has been arrested, drove into the police.

Officers ringed the area as tourists and other onlookers gathered.

The French national gendarmerie service said no-one was hurt in the incident.
