CHRISTOPHER Biggins has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house after he made comments "capable of causing great offence".

In a statement, the Channel 5 reality TV show said: "Big Brother has taken the decision to remove Christopher Biggins from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

"Since entering Big Brother, he has made a number of comments capable of causing great offence to housemates and the viewing public.

"Big Brother does not tolerate offensive language capable of causing widespread offence.

"Christopher Biggins has left the house."

Channel 5 has not revealed the comments made by Biggins that saw him forcibly removed from the house.

Celebrity Big Brother viewers were shocked when remarks he made about bisexual people were aired earlier in the week.

The 67-year-old actor was talking to Mob Wives star Renee Graziano about homosexuality when he made the comments about people needing to "pick a team" in regards to their sexuality.

His exit came hours before the first official eviction of the series was to take place.

A representative for Channel 5 has confirmed the elimination will still go ahead.

DJ James Whale and Anthea Turner's ex-husband Grant Bovey will face the first public vote.
