Stuart Baggs' family call for blue dress code at funeral

Apprentice contestant Stuart Baggs died at the age of 27 at his Isle of Man home

A DATE has been set for the funeral of The Apprentice star Stuart Baggs who died from asthma last month.

Writing on a Facebook tribute page set up in his honour, his family asked those attending the ceremony on August 21 to wear blue.

Mr Baggs (27) was found dead at his home on July 30 in Douglas on the Isle of Man where he ran a communications firm.

At 21, Baggs was the youngest candidate when he appeared on the BBC One show in 2010.

He was knocked out at the interviews stage and the series was eventually won by Stella English, but he became a cult favourite with his steady stream of catchphrases and his description of himself as “Baggs the brand”.

In a statement on the In Memory Of Stuart Baggs – Wear Blue For Stu page, his family said: “We have been overwhelmed by the amount of love and support we have received from you all. We would like to invite anyone who wishes to attend the funeral of Stuart to be held at St Ninians Church, Douglas, IOM at 2pm on Friday 21st August.

“We would kindly request everyone to wear blue – dark, light, bright, jewel, any shade will do. Official details will be in the (local) paper shortly. As a family we would like to say thank you to everyone for your kind words and thoughts at this tremendously difficult time.”

Many photographs of well-wishers wearing blue have already flooded in and posted on the website, with his family urging people to think “outside the box” just like Baggs and be creative with the blue theme.
