FOUR people were arrested after gardaí removed several workers from a former Debenhams store in Dublin.

Former employees and supporters had sought to prevent trucks from liquidators KPMG moving in to remove stock from the premises on Henry Street late on Thursday.

It is understood that those arrested were later released.

People Before Profit TD Mick Barry, who has campaigned with former workers, said up to 50 gardaí had been involved.

A Garda spokesperson said: "An Garda Síochána attended a premises in Dublin City Centre as required in the execution of a High Court order on the evening of the 22nd April 2021.

"An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time."
