One more person has died with Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland, the National Public Health Emergency Team said.

It brings the toll to 1,754.

The health system has been notified of an additional 17 confirmed cases of the disease, bringing the total to 25,819.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland no deaths were recorded while nine people tested positive. The death toll stands at 556.

A total of 16 clusters linked to 133 cases have been identified in the north since May 24 through the Public Health Agency’s (PHA) contact tracing programme.

A potential cluster of coronavirus cases has been identified in Ballymena with health officials "monitoring" developments.

The PHA yesterday confirmed it is "aware of a number of cases in the Ballymena area that may be associated with a cluster".
