Coronavirus: Two deaths in Republic, 14 new cases
Two more people have died with Covid-19 in the Republic of Ireland, bringing the death total to 1,748.
A further 14 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.
Dr Ronan Glynn, acting chief medical officer at the Department of Health, said the National Public Health Emergency Team met yesterday and will convene again tomorrow to review the Republic's response to and preparedness for Covid-19.
He said: "We are at a sensitive stage in the pandemic - this requires caution and collective effort to hold firm and keep the virus suppressed in the community. Continue to follow public health advice."
It comes as nine new cases were confirmed in Northern Ireland, but no further deaths. The death toll in Northern Ireland stands at 556 while the number of confirmed cases has reached 5,799 with 123,285 people having been tested.
