A teenager has been arrested after a number of shots were fired outside a house in Co Tipperary.

Officers arrested the young man and seized a number of firearms following the shooting incident in Mullinahone at about 10.30pm on Monday.

A number of spent casings were recovered from the scene.

During a follow-up operation involving local gardai and members of the Armed Support Units, a man in his late teens was arrested a short time later.

A number of licensed firearms and ammunition were seized.

The youth is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Clonmel garda station.
