A SUSPECT device has been found in Drogheda following a series of violent attacks in the Co Louth town.

The device was found near a parked car on Dublin Road at around 2.40pm yesterday.

Irish army bomb disposal experts were called to the scene to deal with the suspected incendiary device.

It is understood that the car was partly damaged.

The car and device were later removed for examination.

Gardaí are investigating if there is a link to six other incidents in the town between Thursday night and Friday afternoon.

They included two petrol bomb attacks and an assault with a hatchet on an 18-year-old man.
