RTÉ presenter and PR man Bunny Carr dies aged 91

Bunny Carr was famous for presenting the RTÉ gameshow Quicksilver

FORMER RTÉ television presenter and PR practitioner Bunny Carr has died, aged 91.

Mr Carr hosted the popular television series Quicksilver, as well as Teen Talk and Going Strong.

Born in Dublin in 1927, the former bank clerk was with Teilifís Éireann when it launched on New Year's Eve in 1961.

In 1970 he was appointed director of the Catholic Communications Centre, before setting up PR and media training company Carr Communications in 1973.

Along with Quicksilver and Going Strong, Mr Carr's other television shows for RTÉ included The Life Game, The Politicians, The Person in Question and Encounter.

He left RTÉ in 1984, but continued to make irregular appearances on television. He remained with Carr Communications until his retirement in 2004.

Pre-deceased by his wife Joan in 2005, he is survived by his daughters Carolyn and Philo and son Alan and extended family.
