A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man died following a serious assault in Co Donegal.

The 36-year-old sustained injuries in an incident at Sylvan Park in Letterkenny on Wednesday and died the following day in hospital.

Gardaí are now treating his death as a murder probe following a post-mortem examination.

The victim has been named as Sebastian Adamowicz, a Polish national who had been living in Donegal for several years.
