Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man died and a woman was seriously injured in a car crash in Co Clare.
The car struck a tree at around 3.40am at Carraig Hill, Woodcock Hill, Meelik, the Garda said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman passenger, who is believed to be 25, was taken to University Hospital Limerick.
The road remained closed for a forensic examination.
