A MAN has been seriously injured in a gangland-style shooting at his home in Co Meath.

The man was pulling into the driveway of his house at Mill Close in Stamullen at around 7pm yesterday when a lone gunman approached and fired several shots.

It is believed the victim, who is originally from Dublin, was hit at least twice.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment. His condition was described as serious last night.

The shooting was thought to be the third in the same Stamullen housing estate in the last year.

Gardaí are trying to establish a motive for the attack.

Detectives have appealed to anyone who was in the area around the time of the shooting to contact them.
