TWO men, one in his thirties and the other in his forties, have been arrested in Dublin under the Terrorist Offences Act.

The men, one Algerian, the other Moroccan, were being held at Blackrock Garda Station on Monday night.

Gardaí also carried out searches in Swords, Stepaside, South Circular Road and Trim, Co Meath. Documents and laptops were among the items seized.

It is understood the men are being questioned about suspected financial transactions linked to international terrorism.

The arrests and searches were part of an operation involving law enforcement agencies in several European countries.
