DISABLED concert-goers who attended gigs by Bruno Mars at Dublin's 3Arena have complained their view was blocked.

The Hawaiian singer played two sell-out concerts in Dublin on Saturday and Sunday.

But several people contacted RTÉ's Liveline show, hosted by Joe Duffy, today to complain that wheelchair-users in the disabled area could not actually see the concert.

One caller Alannah Murray said she had no view "purely because people decided that they were going to stand in the seating area".

She added: "(The) support act (was) great, wonderful but the seating was fairly empty at that stage so I could see everything. Once things started filling up and the energy started going people were up for 80 per cent of the concert and we didn't see a thing.

"And it was brought to the attention of them: 'listen, you have wheelchairs behind you'. We said stuff, the stewards said stuff and they just looked at us and went back to doing what they were doing."

A spokesman for the venue apologised and said they were looking into the issue.

"3Arena is sorry that some of our patrons who use wheelchairs did not enjoy the concert in question as much as they could have," he said.

"As has been noted, our stewarding staff asked those seated in front of the section dedicated to our wheelchair users to remain seated during the gig.

"Unfortunately these repeated requests were not complied with. We recognise that this situation is extremely distressing and we continue to examine options to solve the problem."
