A 38-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist has died after he collided with a car.

The crash happened at New Ross, Co Wexford at approximately 11pm on Saturday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post mortem examination. The coroner has been notified.

The driver of the car, a man aged 25, was uninjured.

The road was closed on Saturday pending an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators on Sunday morning and diversions were in place.

Witnesses are asked to contact New Ross Garda Station.

Separately, gardai were called to the scene of a two car collision on the N59 at Kylemore in Co Galway.

The occupants in one of the cars, a man and woman aged in their 70s, were airlifted to University Hospital Galway with serious injuries.
