SEARCHES are to continue for a holidaymaker in his fifties who went missing off the coast of Co Donegal.

The man disappeared off on the Isle of Doagh on the Inishowen Peninsula at around midnight on Monday.

Malin Head Coast Guard and the RNLI in Buncrana have been searching the area.

The searches will resume at first light on Wednesday.

The man was camping with his family near the shore opposite Doagh Famine Village, about 35 minutes from Derry.

The searches come a week after the body of Irish soldier Gavin Carey (28) was found off the coast of Co Donegal, north of Bundoran.

Cpl Carey is believed to have been swept out to sea while swimming with four other soldiers.
