Man held in Spain over 2012 Louth murders

A man flying from Belfast to Alicante has been arrested in Spain in connection with a double murder in Co Louth four years ago.

The bodies of Anthony Burnett (31) from Croke Villas and Joseph Redmond (25) from Ballybough, both in Dublin, were found dead in a burnt-out car at Ravensdale Park in Dundalk on March 7 2012. Both men had been shot.

Gardaí said they believed the murders were linked to a drugs feud.

The man in his 30s was arrested last night in Alicante and is being hekd pending extradition proceedings.
