AN Independent TD is said to be recovering well after being injured by a cow on his farm.
Michael Healy-Rae was being kept in hospital in Cork after suffering a number of injuries when he was hit by the animal which had been calving.
The accident happened on the family farm near Kilgarvan in Co Kerry on Sunday evening.
The TDs son Jackie Junior said he is being treated in Cork University Hospital and is being kept in for tests and observation but his injuries are not thought to be serious.
"My father is recovering well at present," he said.
Mr Healy-Rae and his brother Danny won seats in the Dail in last month's general election.
