Showgoers step out in style for Ladies Day at Dublin Horse Show

FASHIONISTAS have upped the stakes at Dublin Horse Show with all the style and flourish expected in the race to win the €10,000 best dressed prize at Ladies' Day.

Other awards up for grabs include most creative hat, most colourful outfit, elegance is an attitude and best dressed man, with model Pippa O'Connor and fashion editor Bairbre Power tasked with picking out the winners.

Over the next four days more than 100,000 people are expected to attend the RDS show which remains a 'must' for equestrian fans across Ireland.

The event kicked off yesterday with the Irish Sports Council Classic while today's main feature is a Speed Derby followed by the Serpentine Speed Stakes and the Anglesea Stakes Winning Round competition.

On Friday, Ireland's showjumping team will go up against seven other nations for the Aga Khan Trophy in the Furusiyya FEI Nations' Cup, with the highlighs on Saturday including the Land Rover Puissance and the JLT Dublin Stakes.

Almost 1,500 horses were registered to compete in 132 competitions before closing on Sunday with the Speed Championship and the Longines Grand Prix of Dublin.
