WITH just a few short steps from her home close to Belfast city centre, bride Frances Nugent was at the door of the chapel to be married on Saturday.
There was no need for a fancy limousine or horse drawn carriage, as Ms Nugent emerged from the house on Donegall Street to make the short journey to St Patrick's Church, just a few doors away.
Accompanied by her father Jim and five bridesmaids, Ms Nugent walked to the service where she married Conor Keenan from the Short Strand area of the city.
Fr Eugene O'Neill, administrator of the church, said it was a unique occasion for the city centre church.
"Frances is one of very few people who live on Donegall Street so it's been many years since there has been a wedding from the street," he said.
"I thought it was very beautiful that a bride from Donegall Street walks to our church on Donegall Street - a few steps away - on her wedding day.
"It's really wonderful to honour such an unusual and beautiful occasion."
He added that the "wedding went beautifully".
