Camper van stolen during Co Armagh burglary

Two police officers have sustained minor injuries after their vehicle was rammed in Co Armagh.

It followed the burglary of a house in the Portadown Road area of Tandragee, shortly before 5.30pm yesterday.

A quantity of jewellery, money and keys to a camper van were taken. The vehicle, which had been parked outside the house, was also stolen.

The camper van was spotted a short time later in Armagh where it failed to stop for police.

It was later seen by police in Keady, where the driver rammed a police car, causing significant damage to the vehicle.

Two officers, who were in the car at the time, sustained minor injuries.

The camper van was abandoned a short distance away.

Two men exited the vehicle and ran across fields.

A 16-year-old was then detained by An Garda Síochána.

A PSNI spokesman said enquiries "are ongoing".
