TYRONE'S GAA football All-Ireland final clash against Mayo was one of the most watched TV shows in Ireland in 2021, new data has shown.

Figures from audience research company TAM Ireland/Nielsen found that September's All-Ireland showdown at Croke Park was the second most-watched show of the year among Irish viewers, with over 944,000 tuning in on RTÉ 2.

The most-watched show was the Late Late Toy Show in November, on RTÉ One, with 1.7 million views.

Sporting events dominated the Irish top 10 most watched shows, including coverage of the Euro 2020 soccer tournament and 6 Nations rugby matches, along with the All-Ireland hurling final between Cork and Limerick.

The only other non-sporting broadcasts in the top 10 were Oprah Winfrey's March interview with Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle, and RTÉ's Six One news.
