Family of Tierna Campbell (20) found dead in Co Down tell of losing their 'beautiful angel'

THE family of the young woman found dead in Co Down have told of their devastation of losing their "beautiful angel".

The 20-year-old, who was named locally at Tierna Campbell, has also been remembered as the "most caring and loving person in the world".

She was found collapsed in a block of flats on Dromore Street in Ballynahinch on Thursday at 8.30pm on Thursday.

Police last night said "a post mortem examination has taken place and police now await results of toxicology reports".

Three men - two aged 26 and one aged 30 - arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following her death have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Tributes have poured in for the former pupil of St Patrick's Grammar School, Downpatrick, with many people remembering her "lovely smile".

Her mother Arleen posted on social media: "My beautiful baby girl..what I would give to have you back ..my beautiful angel".

Her brother Gerard also wrote: "My baby sister Tierna has passed away as many of you know.

"She was the most caring and loving person in the world. It breaks my heart knowing that me, my boys and everyone else won't get to hear her giggle or see her smile again."

Friends have also written of their devastation following her tragic death.

One wrote: "Absolutely heartbroken, Tierna Campbell had a heart of gold.

"I will cherish every single weird and wonderful memory of us growing up together for the rest of my life. Thinking of Tierna’s family at this extremely difficult time".

Another pal said: "You always had such a lovely smile and the most contagious laugh. You will be greatly missed."

The young woman's funeral is due to take place at St Patrick's Church, Ballynahinch on Wednesday at 10am followed by burial at Milltown Cemetery.
