A SPATE of burglaries in Newtownabbey over the weekend may be linked, police have said.

Officers are investigating reports of burglaries and attempted break-ins between Saturday evening and yesterday morning.

A burglar tried to break into a house in Farmley Gardens between 10pm and 11pm on Saturday.

Between midnight and 7.30am yesterday, several break-ins were reported in St Anne’s Crescent, Carnvue Gardens and Carnvue Road.

Money and other items were stolen.

An attempted break-in was also reported shortly before 1:55am in Ferndale Crescent.

Between Sunday night and yesterday morning, a handbag and a Peugeot 308 were stolen during a creeper burglary in Ferndale Gardens.

The car was last seen travelling along York Road in Newtownabbey.

Police appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 101.
