Man threatened with 10 inch knife while sitting in his vehicle in south Belfast

A man was threatened with a ten inch long knife and had his wallet stolen while sitting in his vehicle in south Belfast last night. 

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following the armed robbery in the Fitzroy Avenue at around 9pm.

Two men approached the victim's stationary vehicle and gestured for him to lower his window. When he did so, one of the men demanded his wallet and produced a knife approximately ten inches long and pointed it towards the victim’s neck.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: “The victim handed over his wallet which contained his bank cards and driving licence. Thankfully no cash or other valuables were taken.”

He continued: “The males are described as being in their late teens, of slim build, wearing dark coloured clothing and had their faces covered. Both made off in the direction of Queen’s University.

“Our enquiries are continuing and we are appealing for anyone with information or who may have witnesses any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives on 101 quoting 1891 19/10/21.”
