Police are appealing for information after a window was smashed at the home of an elderly woman in north Belfast yesterday.

Two men were seen in the Downview Avenue area behaving in a suspicious manner at about 2.50pm.

Detective Sergeant Fairfield said: “Officers attended, and it was discovered that a rear window at a house had been broken.

“It’s not believed that entry was gained to the property, or anything taken from it, at this time.

“The female householder, who is in her 80s, was not at home at the time of the incident.

“One of the men seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time was said to be wearing a blue coat and light grey bottoms. The other male was dressed in dark coloured trousers and a dark coloured jacket.

“The pair headed in the direction of the Antrim Road.

“Our enquiries are continuing, and we are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or may have CCTV footage which could assist us, to call 101, quoting reference number 1184 of 10/10/21.”
