POLICE in east Belfast are treating the torching of a car as arson with intent to endanger life.

A red Fiat 500 parked in the Woodbreda Drive area of Castlereagh was reported as being on fire at around 6.50am on Sunday.

A PSNI spokesperson said firefighters extinguished the blaze, adding: " are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, and saw anyone acting suspiciously. Please get in touch with detectives on the non-emergency number 101."
