LIAM Gallagher says he is "absolutely gutted" to cancel his forthcoming gig in Belfast after falling out of a helicopter.

The singer (48) had been due to perform at Belsonic at Ormeau Park on Friday.

But Gallagher said he had "bust his nose" in the helicopter accident and was unable to sing.

It comes just days after the former Oasis frontman told fans on Twitter that he had fallen from a helicopter after performing at the Isle of Wight Festival.

In a statement released on Twitter today, he said: "Absolutely gutted to cancel my Belfast show this weekend.

"I had an accident after IOW festival and have bust my nose so can't sing.

"The doctors have told me to rest up.

"Apologies to all the people who has bought tickets.. the show is being rescheduled...i'll make it up to ya. LG x"

Following the helicopter incident, Gallagher had shared a photo of his bruised and cut face, joking that the image could feature on the cover of his next solo album.

He also compared himself to the late The Who drummer Keith Moon, who was renowned for his wild behaviour.

The singer tweeted: "So check this out I fell out the helicopter last night you couldn't rite (sic) it, all good who said RnR is dead Keith moon eat your drum skin out C'mon you know LG x"

Gallagher also jokingly responded to one fan who asked how if there was any CCTV footage of the fall, saying: "Yeah it's in the next video".
