A man and a woman in their forties were being questioned by police last night after more than £100,000 in cash was found in a car in Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

The 49-year-old man and the woman (45) were arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property after police stopped a car at Ballygawley roundabout around 3pm on Wednesday.

Police searched the car and found around £102,500 and €14,800 in cash.

Photos released by police show some of the cash was hidden in a spare tyre.

A police spokesman said: "We will continue to listen to the concerns of the public and act on any information they provide, so I would encourage people to come forward to report any suspicious activity they see."
