A car stolen from a house in west Belfast's St James area crashed and destroyed a garden wall this morning, police have said.

The car owner wakened at arond 5.40am today to see their silver Ford Fiesta being driven away from their home. A spare key and the owner's handbag had also been stolen.

Police said that a short time later the car crashed, "destroying a garden wall and damaging a parked vehicle".

The driver made off on foot towards the Donegall Road and is described as wearing a North Face jacket, shorts and being around 17 years old.
