A TECH-SAVVY priest in Co Kerry is planning to use a drone to broadcast outdoor cemetery Masses.

Parishioners who are unable to attend the traditional services due to Covid-19 restrictions will still get a bird's eye view thanks to Fr Patsy Lynch.

Fr Lynch, from the Parish of Prior, will pilot the drone while streaming mass online from cemeteries in Portmagee, the Glen and Ballinskelligs, according to a report by RTÉ News.

It is customary in Kerry to celebrate Mass in cemeteries during the month of July.

However, the Diocese has advised against groups congregating due to the Delta variant.

Fr Lynch said more members of the clergy should embrace the technology available to them.

Weather permitting, he plans to livestream drone coverage of the cemetery masses in mid-July.
