THE latest easing of travel restrictions was last night welcomed by Belfast International Airport, which issued an updated checklist for travellers.

Graham Keddie, managing director of the airport, said the move by the Executive to allow fully vaccinated people from Northern Ireland to return home from amber list countries without the need to quarantine will provide a "much-needed boost to the sector".

"The pandemic has had a devastating impact on aviation and tourism and although things have been improving, this move should help give a much-needed boost to the sector," he said.

"This decision will obviously need to be based on the latest scientific evidence with public health being the overriding priority.

For all passengers planning their journey, the airport advises:

:: Check with NI Direct prior to travel for the latest guidance and ensure you are fully compliant

:: Check with your airlines about what is required by both the airline and the authorities at the destination

:: Have all documentation prepared in advance of arrival at the airport

:: If you require a PCR test, please book your slot in advance

:: Please arrive early and allow extra time for travel.
