Police in Newtownbutler have discovered a cannabis factory during a policing operation yesterday evening.

Officers conducted a search of a property in the area and seized 42 adult plants and equipment used to cultivate cannabis. 

A 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis and possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.

He is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

Inspector Darryl Johnston said: “This was a significant discovery by officers working to keep the community safe. Our investigation is ongoing and anyone who has information that could assist us should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1744 of 10/05/21.
