LOCATION filming on new Netflix fantasy film `The School for Good and Evil' has begun in north Belfast.

Based on a best-selling book franchise by Soman Chainani and directed by 'Bridesmaids' director Paul Feig, it is mostly being shot at Belfast Harbour Studios and stars Kerry Washington, Charlize Theron, Laurence Fishburne, and Michelle Yeoh.

A location crew has been shooting outside St Peter's Church of Ireland on Antrim Road.

The film follows a group of girls and boys taken to an institution and trained to become fairy tale-like heroes and villains and comes from the team behind `Snow White and the Huntsman', `Alice in Wonderland', `Oz the Great and Powerful' and `Ella Enchanted'.

It will be broadcast on the streaming giant.
