POLICE in Co Armagh have launched an investigation after four lorries were destroyed in an arson attack in Cullyhanna.

Shortly after 12.30am it was reported that a lorry had been set alight in the Drumalt Road area.

A further three lorries parked in the area were also found to have been set on fire.

In addition, the window of a mobile home was damaged.

Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fires.

Police said the lorries were completely destroyed.

A PSNI spokesman said enquiries "to establishment the circumstances surrounding these incidents" are ongoing.

Sinn Féin councillor Barra Ó Muirí said: "This is a friendly hard-working community and this incident has angered and frightened many.

"The police are currently investigating the incident and anyone with information regarding it should contact them."
