A 45-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a police investigation into a "serious incident" in east Belfast.
It occurred in the Greenway area on Tuesday.
Police said the victim, a man in his thirties, remained in a critical condition in hospital.
A man is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He is also charged with possession of an explosive, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a class A drug.
