A man who died suddenly at his home in Newry was named locally last night as Cahal Lundy.

The body of the father-of-two, who was understood to be in his late 30s, was discovered in a house in the Springfarm Heights area on Monday night.

Police have said they are "awaiting toxicology results" to determine the cause of death.

A spokesman confirmed they were investigating the circumstances and a post mortem had taken place.

Requiem Mass for Mr Lundy is due to be celebrated at 2.30pm tomorrow in the Church of Mary of the Assumption, Drumalane followed by interment in the cemetery of the Sacred Heart Church, Cloughogue.

Due to the Covid restrictions the house and funeral are strictly private.
