A MAN has suffered a suspected broken arm, cuts and severe bruising after he was beaten by a gang in north Belfast.

At around 9.15pm yesterday, a number of masked men, wearing dark clothing and armed with iron bars and hammers, gained entry to a house in the Carlisle Road area.

A man aged in his twenties was struck repeatedly around the head, arms and legs and was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a suspected broken arm, cuts and severe bruising.

A PSNI spokesman said enquires into the incident are "ongoing" and appealed for information.
