Gardaí last night said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths of a mother and a baby in Dublin.

Officers were called at around 3.45am yesterday after a woman was seen behaving erratically at the M50 Toll Bridge.

The woman's body was subsequently found below the bridge at the Lower Road at the Strawberry Beds.

The woman's body was recovered and when Gardai went to her home in Lucan they discovered a seven-month-old baby boy who was in an unresponsive condition.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

An incident room has also been established at Lucan Garda Station and the coroner's office has been informed.

The family of the mother and child have appealed for privacy at this time.

Gardaí say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
