A CO Fermanagh man has been jailed for more than a year after he was convicted of grievous bodily harm against a woman.

Jason Magerr (30) from Hillview Park, Enniskillen carried out the offence in July 2018.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and in April this year was sentenced to two years eight months, with half of the sentence to be served on licence.

Magerr was also ordered to adhere to a number of conditions following his release from prison, including living at an address approved by the Probation Board NI and participating in any programme of work recommended by the board.

A restraining order is also in place to protect the female victim in the case.

Magerr had also faced five other charges including rape, which he had denied.

All five charges were "left on the books".
