THE mother of Noah Donohoe last night urged supporters to back a Twitter campaign to raise awareness of her son's case.

Fiona Donohoe, who has set up a dedicated pages on Twitter and Facebook, called MyNoah Donohoe, yesterday asked all those following the pages to swamp Twitter with hashtags #Week8 #RememberMyNoah, at 6.11pm last night and every Sunday going forward.

It is hoped the move will raise the profile of her son's case.

The south Belfast woman has increased her media presence in recent days as she seeks answers about her son's death.

The 14-year-old went missing on June 21. There are no confirmed sightings of the St Malachy's College student since 6.11pm that evening.

The teenager's body was found in a storm drain in north Belfast six days later.

Noah had been travelling to Cave Hill Country Park to meet friends on the day of his disappearance.

Police originally said they believed he had fallen from his bike and possibly received a head injury that may have caused him to behave out of character.

A post-mortem examination showed he drowned but did not show he had suffered a head injury.

Noah's mother said she is still seeking answers about how her son died.

On Facebook at the weekend, Fiona Donohoe said she wanted to "extend my heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you personally.

"Without your encouragement, love and support, getting through this past 8 weeks would have been simply impossible," she said.

Ms Donohoe, who has enlisted the help of solicitor, Niall Murphy, said she had been "inundated with ideas on how our campaign might move forward.

"Can I just assure you, every suggestion has been noted, every idea will be thought about and when the timing is right, in conjunction with my legal team KRW Law, we will march forward together for MyNoah. I am so grateful for these inspiring ideas."

Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill was among those who shared messages of support last night.

The Sinn Féin deputy leader tweeted: "Today marks eight weeks since Noah Donohoe went missing. Our thoughts are with his mummy Fiona and all who loved him.

"Many questions remain unanswered I will continue to support Fiona and the family to get answers to the questions surrounding the tragic loss of Noah. #RememberMyNoah."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that a man is due to be charged in connection with the discovery of Noah's backpack and laptop.

When asked, a PSNI spokeswoman said: "This is an ongoing coronial investigation and as such it would be inappropriate to comment any further."
