Suspect device found at Sinn Féin's west Belfast office

Sinn Fein MP Paul Maskey condemned the attack on the party's office in west Belfast

A suspect device has been left outside Sinn Féin's constituency office in west Belfast.

The party said the object was left outside the Sevastopol Street office off the Falls Road in the early hours of this morning.

A section of the Falls Road was sealed off as police attended the scene.

Last month a suspect device was left at the front gates of the party's Connolly House office on the Andersonstown Road

Sinn Féin MP for West Belfast Paul Maskey said: “For decades this office has provided an invaluable service to the community of West Belfast.

“In particular, the office been at the heart of work in recent months to support the local community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This attack follows on from another incident at Connolly House constituency office two weeks ago.

“Those responsible for these futile attacks have no support in our community.

“Sinn Féin will not be deterred. We will continue to work to deliver for constituents and to build a just, equal and united Ireland."
