McDONALD'S has opened two of its outlets in Northern Ireland for walk-in takeaway service.

The doors in Donegall Place in Belfast city centre and in Enniskillen reopened yesterday.

It comes after the fast food chain opened drive-through facilities earlier this month and some locations also began delivery services.

McDonald's said it had introduced several changes to its restaurants to help serve customers safely for takeaways.

They include signposting and floor-markings to create a one-way system and a limited number of people allowed inside to help ensure social distancing.

Customers will also be asked to sanitise their hands at cleaning stations in all restaurants.

There will be fewer self-order screens switched on and those in use will be sanitised at least every 30 minutes, with customers also encouraged to visit alone to collect their food where possible.
