Two men die in fatal crashes in Killyleagh and Dundalk

An 18-year-old man has died in a crash in Killyleagh, Co Down

An 18-year-old man has died in a fatal two-car crash in Co Down.

He was a passenger in a Peugeot 207 which collided with a Volkswagen Polo on the Coily Hill Road in Killyleagh shortly after midnight.

Six other young people, four men and two women, were injured in the crash. They were taken to hospital.

The PSNI appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 101.

Meanwhile a man in his early thirties has died after his car was involved in a crash with a lorry on the M1 near Dundalk, Co Louth.

The lorry driver, who was not injured, was arrested following the fatal crash at around 5am today.

A section of the motorway was closed this morning.

Gardaí in Dundalk are appealing for any witnesses and anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the crash to contact officers.
